ہیں راکھ راکھ مگر آج تک نہیں بکھرے
دھوپ چھوتی ہے بدن کو جب شمیمؔ
اپنے ہی فن کی آگ میں جلتے رہے شمیمؔ
سلسلے خواب کے اشکوں سے سنورتے کب ہیں
میں تو لمحات کی سازش کا نشانہ ٹھہرا
جو خود پہ بیٹھے بٹھائے زوال لے آئے
ہر ایک لفظ میں پوشیدہ اک الاؤ نہ رکھ
غزلوں میں اب وہ رنگ نہ رعنائی رہ گئی
درد کے چہرے بدل جاتے ہیں کیوں
